poems

Agar hum kahen, aur woh muskura den,
Hum unke liye, zindagani loota den.

Har ek mod par hum, gamon ko sazaa den,
chalo zindagi ko mohabat bana den.

Agar khud ko bhoole to, kuch bhi na bhoole,
ke chahat mein unki khuda ko bhoola den.

Qayamat ke deewane, kehte hain humse,
chalo unke chehre se parda hata den.

Saaja den, sila den, bana den, mita den,
magar woh koi, faisla to suna den.

na chero en aansoo_on ko enhe behne do
na aao paas, humhe yuin he jeene do

koi baahein de de sahara aisi apni kismat he nahi
zindagi ka gum unmei bhul jaoon ye apne mukadar mei nahi

jo bhi mila, jaate huey ek dard thamata he gaya
pal do pal ka de kar saath, bhulaata he gaya

kahin koi to dosh hoga mera, aisa bhi kaya
ya phir kismat mei he shayad ye likha hai to kaya

kehte hain wo ruhi mei hai ruh basi
kitni tanha hai ruh, jo ruh ruhi mei hai basi

rahe jis haal mei bhi hum, tumhe pukara karein
tum aao ya na aao, umeedon ke chirag hum jalaya karein

bayaan kaise ho haal-e-dil ka..
jab pakad mein kambaqht alfaaz nahin

zara badh ke bosa le lena "muztar"..
mashooq tera itnaa bhi faraaz nahin
[ bosa = kiss , mashooq = beloved , faraaz = tall ]

Barson baad jagi hai tamanna aaj
Teri baaton ne dil gudgudaya hai
Ansoo behte hai, man machalta hai
Pyar ka shen kahin gujar na jaye
yun khali khali se bathe hain
Kahin tu mil kar phir kho na jaye
Doston ke liye arz kiya hai ki...

Yeh bhi kaisi Holi hai?
Jab koi hamaare sang nahin
Shor aur hurdang nahin
Gubbaare aur koi rang nahin
Na gehun, na dhaan ki baali
Na hee jija, naa hee saali !!

Yeh bhi kaisi Holi hai?
Na shaitaanon ki toli hai
Na bhaang ki koi gholi hai
Ek phrase hai ki-"Happy Holi" hai
Na kachori, na gulab-jamun hain
Soone- sookhe aangan hain
Jab gujhiyaan beshumaar nahin
Thahaakon ki bharmaar nahin

Yeh bhi kaisi Holi hai?
Na gaal- peele- laal hain
Na rang se chipke baal hain
Na kapdon par bikharaa gulaal hai
Na nachchiyon ki dhamaal hai
Na pichkaari ki dhaar hai
Na bheege rishtedaar hai

Yeh bhi kaisi Holi hai?
Jab chuppi sab ki boli hai
Bharat ka dil mein pyaar hai
Vaapis jaane ka intzaar hai
Tab bheegenge saare rangon mein
Jhumenge saathi-sangon mein
Holi sirf rangon ka tyohaar nahin
Kya Holi jab aapas mein pyaar nahin?

Aao hum apni Holi manaayen
Doston ko koi nayi kavita sunaayen
Gaane gaayen, bansuri bajaayen
Laddu-pede nahin hain to kya
Apni baaton ki mithaas hai
Vichaar bhi to apne khaas hain
Dil-he-dil mein aankh-micholi khelen
Aao, binaa rang ke holi khelen !!!

chote the, maan uple thapa karti thi
hum uplon par shaklein goontha kerte the
aankh lagakar ? kaan banakar
naak lagakar
pagdi waala ? topi waala
mera upla ?
tera upla
apne apne jaane pehchane namon se upla thapa kerte
the

hansta khelta suraj roz sabere aakar
gobar ke uplon mein khela karta tha
raat ko aangan mein jab chulha jalta tha
hum sare chulhe gher ke baithe rehte the
kis uple ki baari aayi
kiska upla raakh hua

who pandit tha
ek munna tha
ek dasrath tha

barson baad main
shamshan mein baitha soch reha hoon
aaj raat is waqt ke jalte chulhe mein
ek dost ka upla aur gaya. --Gulzar

Freedom

She was an angel soaring high in the sky above free,
Then my love made her free to lose her liberty.
And she felt captive bound in a golden chain,
No! I cannot see you uneasy my beauty with the brain.
You are free my love, you shall stand no trial,
It is sufficient if you remember me once in a while,
For it is a pleasure too to remember,
To remember a friend who shall be sincere,
A constant friend who shall prove to be a treasure,
Wherever you may need him and whenever.
Who shall be always by your side,
As a friend and as your guide.
~*~

Feelings

I'll cry for you; I'll wash away your pain with my tears,
I'll pray for you, feel pain for you.
I see your face every place I'm walking,
Hear your voice every place I'm talking.
I'll lie for you, steal for you,
Crawl on my hands and knees until you believe in me.
~*~
The Change

Life has a new meaning,
Who brought this change?
To make everyday more purposeful,
Who gave a new direction to life,
Motivating every moment of it.
It is so comforting to believe,
That somewhere someone remembers you,
Is concerned about you and cares for you.
Prays to the lords who sent this angel to me,
Cause it is she who brought this change.
~*~
Lost love

Never could I tell you all that I had to say
Now it is too late that you are so far away
One sweet day perhaps, I shall tell you
All the stupid things I wanted to say
Sometimes I wish if could turn time
Impossible as it may seem, but I wish if I could someday
Till then
Remember me not in your life as a blot or a ghost,
But as a man?
Who became worshipper from a dost.

Fragments of My Fate

Reality is a dream: for a soul in thought
Life is a platitude: for a heart in fragments
Time is a whirlpool: for a mind in wander
Love is a lie: for a body in wither
Laughter can be no medicine when the wound is the cure,
Wine is without effect when the spirit is asunder
Of what use is fate to a man in sin ?
Of what need is destiny to a dying kin ?
I looked for an answer that Eternity hath writ, ?
The treasure of your youth,
she said lies in the fragments of your fate?

Aggresion as a way to overcome depression :

Aggresion is the antidote to depression.
Depression set in if there is a lack of zeal to fight.
Depression is the lack of energy; anger and
aggresion are a bolt of energy.

If you are depressed, do not take prozac - just fight for any cause.
If aggression corsses a certain limit, it leads you back into depression. That is what happened iwth King Ashoka who won the Kalinga war but became depressed. He had to take refuge in Buddha.

ki jaana mai kaun

Baba Bulleh Shah's qafi, Bulle Ki Jaana Main Kaun, is his typical view of the world. He sees the common underlying reality that lies beneath the mundane, and rejoices in its all pervasiveness. This concept is similar to the monotheistic, omnipresent concept of God that we come across in Sikhism and the Upanishads.

Here are the lyrics with translation of Baba Bulleh Shah’s qafiBulla ki jaana main kaun. Although the original qafi has verses in different order, this is Rabbi Shergill’s version. He has rearranged some verses although he missed none.

Bulla ki Jaana Main Kaun…!

Bulla, ki jaana main kaun "Bulla, who knows who I am!"

Bulla, ki jaana main kaun "Bulla, who knows who I am!"

Na main moman vich maseetan I am neither a believer (moman) in a mosque (maseet)

Na main vich kufar dian reetan I do not believe in false (kufar) ceremonies and rites (reetan)

Na main pakan vich paleetan I am not making purity (pak) impure (paleet)

Na main andar bed kitaban I am not inside any secrets (bed, from Veda) in holy books (kitaaban)

Na main rehnda bhang sharaban I do not achieve him by getting drunk (bhang) in wine (sharaab)

Na main rehnda mast kharaban I do not see him when intoxicated (mast) by some drug

Na main shadi na ghamnaki I am not in joy (shadi) nor in sorrow (ghamnaki)

Na main vich paleetan pakeen Neither in clean (pak) nor unclean (paleet)

Na main aabi na main khaki I am not water (aabi), I am not earth (khaki)

Na main aatish na paun I am not fire (aatish) or air (paun, pawan)

Bulla ki jaana main kaun "Bulla, who knows who I am!"

Na main arabi na Lahori I am not an arab, I am not from Lahore (Baba Bulle Shah spent a lot of time in Lahore, he believed in one world and feels he belongs to His world and not to Lahore which is a man made boundary)

Na main hindi shehar Nagaori I am neither Indian (Hindi here refers to Indian, from Hindustan) and nor from Nagaor (a city in Rajasthan, near Alwar)

Na hindu na turk pashauri I am neither neither Hindu nor Turk (Baba Bulleh Shah was born in Islamic family of Turks)

Na main bhet mazhab de paya I did not understand the secret (bhet) of religion (mazhab) that are preached

Na main aadam hawwa jaya I did not bore (jaya) Adam (adam) or Eve (Hawwa)

Na koi apna naam dharaya I did not keep a name or affiliate myself; neither did I ask people to follow that name

Avval-aakhar aap nu jana He is the first (Avval) and last (aakhar) and with no religion

Na koi dooja hor pacchana I do not recognize any other (referring to the saints and prophets)

Maithon na koi hor syana And no one is more wise or intelligent than me

Bulle Shah Kharha hai kaun Baba Bulle Shah asks himself "Who is this standing Bulleh Shah, who is asking me who am I?"

Bulla ki jaana main kaun Bulleh Shah, I do not know who I am.

Na main moosa na phraun I am not a saint like Moses (moosa), nor am I a king like Pharaoh (phraun)

Na main jaagan na vich saun I am not in wakefulness or sleep

Na main aatish na paun I am not fire (aatish) or air (paun, pawan)

Na main rehnda vich Nadaun Nor do I live in Nadaun.

Na main baithen na vich paun I am not in stillness (baithen), not in movement (paun, here the wind or pawan or paun is used to explain movement, like wind blows)

Bulle Shah Kharha hai kaun "Who is this standing Bulleh Shah, who is asking me who am I?"

Bulla, ki jaana main kaun "Bulla, who knows who I am!"

Bulla, ki jaana main kaun "Bulla, who knows who I am!"

picture of perfect peace

There once was a King who offered a prize to the artist who would paint the best picture of peace. Many artists tried. The King looked at all the pictures, but there were only two he really liked and he had to choose between them.

One picture was of a calm lake. The lake was a perfect mirror, for peaceful towering mountains were all around it. Overhead was a blue sky with fluffy white clouds. All who saw this picture thought that it was a perfect picture of peace.

The other picture had mountains, too. But these were rugged and bare. Above was an angry sky from which rain fell and in which lightening played. Down the side of the mountain tumbled a foaming waterfall. This did not look peaceful at all. But when the King looked, he saw behind the waterfall a tiny bush growing in a crack in the rock. In the bush a mother bird had built her nest. There, in the midst of the rush of angry water, sat the mother bird on her nest... perfect peace.

Which picture do you think won the prize?

The King chose the second picture. Do you know why? "Because," explained the King, "peace does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work. Peace means to be in the midst of all those things and still be calm in your heart. That is the real meaning of peace."

you are strong

You Are....
You are strong...
when you take your grief and teach it to smile.

You are brave...
when you overcome your fear and help others to do the same.

You are happy...
when you see a flower and are thankful for the blessing.

You are loving...
when your own pain does not blind you to the pain of others.

You are wise...
when you know the limits of your wisdom.

You are true...
when you admit there are times you fool yourself.

You are alive...
when tomorrow's hope means more to you than yesterday's mistake.

You are growing...
when you know what you are but not what you will become.

You are free...
when you are in control of yourself and do not wish to control others.

You are honorable...
when you find your honor is to honor others.

You are generous...
when you can take as sweetly as you can give.

You are humble...
when you do not know how humble you are.

You are thoughtful...
when you see me just as I am and treat me just as you are.

You are merciful...
when you forgive in others the faults you condemn in yourself.

You are beautiful...
when you don't need a mirror to tell you.

You are rich...
when you never need more than what you have.

You are you...
when you are at peace with who you are not.

poem to God by Anupama

Please be with me when I want to cry
Please be with me when I want to try

Please be with when I want to touch the sky
Please be with me when I have to lie

Please be with me when I'm losing sense
Please be with me darkness get more dense

Please be with me to hold me back when I 'm going wrong
Please be with me when I need to get more strong....

Are you afraid?" First one replied,"No, not that. During the blood test they cut my finger" Hearing this the second one started crying. The first one was astonished and asked other, "Why are you crying?" The other replied,"I have come for my urine test."

The Inner Life - Inayat khan Irianian sufism

The Inner Life

Hazrat Inayat Khan

Spacer Wisdom only appears when the mind is purified from dogmas, speculative theories and preconceived ideas. The many names, forms and doctrines which have been applied all down the ages are like veils covering the phenomena of the spirit of guidance, which manifests constantly at every level of human understanding.
Spacer For example, this inner guidance is constantly present in nature's mysteries, communicating a never-ending message of Love, providing one's attunement to that message awakens one's heart to a broader outlook, beyond the limitations of an individual perspective. And when one offers to partake in carrying the burden of others' misunderstandings, one then uses the language of the heart to communicate sympathy and dedication to others in support of their various interpretations of the one and only Truth.

Spacer Among the numberless purposes in our lives, one might take for granted that the ideals which secure a balanced condition of body, mind, heart and soul are all those which are related to life itself, such as living life fully, the urge for knowledge and the longing for happiness. As to whether a material ideal could lead to inner realization, one might say that from the point of view of the Divine Purpose, even a material ideal could very well be the fulfillment of a spiritual one, because every effort made, whether material or spiritual, brings one consciously or unconsciously nearer to the ultimate goal. Each small step may be seen as a humble contribution to the fulfillment of the Divine Purpose, which could be understood as a constant state of formation inspired by a central theme, life in all its infinite variety.

Spacer The purpose of life is not only found in rising to the greatest heights, but also in diving deep into the deepest depths, whereby the self is lost, but paradoxically finds itself again in the widening of its consciousness, just like the seed which, after having been buried under the earth, finds the fulfillment of its purpose in rising as a plant and spreading out in full bloom under the rays of the sun. This teaches us that there is no experience in life which is worthless. There is no single moment which is really wasted, providing one is wise enough to carefully assemble the bits and pieces of past memories and discover in these as many memories as may be needed on the path of inner awakening.

Spacer The self, 'the consciousness,' rejoices or suffers unrest from positive or negative thoughts or actions, but when losing hold over itself and focusing all its energy on the Divine Presence, it becomes radiant. The self is only a channel, however; it is the soul which is ultimately the life within, and the spectator of happenings; and like a mirror, impressions reflected upon the pure surface of the soul leave no trace whatsoever.

Spacer The path to the development of inner consciousness is a thorny one, and it can only be said that this is truly awakened when one chooses to forge one's character so as to be an example to others. This art of personality teaches one that happiness is only there when one strives to become an inspiration of happiness to others, overlooking all that disturbs one, such as opinions which are not in accordance with one's own thinking. At the same time, one must try to rise above one's own failures, knowing that in every fall there is a hidden stepping stone to success, providing one is willing to attune oneself to the rhythm of all those who cross one's path, and in whom one might eventually discover a spark of hidden guidance.

Spacer The inner life is a journey which requires thoughtful planning and constant dedication so as to avoid a regrettable return to the starting point. Among the obligations which pull one back during the journey, one which is by no means to be underestimated is the debt owed to those left behind. The fulfillment of one's obligations is not only essential from a material point of view but is also a most sacred duty on the inner path, and as such it is the first step to be made toward God-consciousness.

Spacer The inner life can be described as the realization of one's nothingness when the heart becomes empty of the self and at the same time full of the object of one's ideal. However, this state becomes more and more elusive, owing to the constant interference of the ego which bars the way to further progress on the path of inner realization.

Attar's Seven Valleys of Love

The Valley of the Quest

When you enter the first valley, the Valley of the Quest, a hundred difficulties will assail you; you will undergo a hundred trials. There, the Parrot of heaven is no more than a fly. You will have to spend several years there, you will have to make great efforts, and to change your state. You will have to give up all that has seemed precious to you and regard as nothing all that you possess. When you are sure that you possess nothing, you still will have to detach yourself from all that exists. Your heart will then be saved from perdition and you will see the pure light of Divine Majesty and your real wishes will be multiplied to infinity. One who enters here will be filled with such longing that he will give himself up completely to the quest symbolized by this valley. He will ask of his cup-bearer a draught of wine, and he has drunk it nothing will matter except the pursuit of his true aim. Then he will no longer fear the dragons, the guardians of the door, which seek to devour him. When the door is opened and he enters, then dogma, belief and unbelief--all cease to exist.

The Valley of Love

The next valley is the Valley of Love. To enter it one must be a flaming fire--what shall I say? A man must himself be fire. The face of the lover must be enflamed, burning and impetuous as fire. True love knows no after-thoughts; with love, good and evil cease to exist.
But as for you, the heedless and careless, this discourse will not touch you, your teeth will not even nibble at it. A loyal person stakes ready money, stakes his head even, to be united to his Friend. Others content themselves with what they will do for you tomorrow. If he who sets out on this way will not engage himself wholly and completely he will never be free from the sadness and melancholy which weigh him down. Until the falcon reaches his aim, he is agitated and distressed. If a fish is thrown onto the beach by the waves it struggles to get back into the water.
In this valley, love is represented by fire, and reason by smoke. When love comes reason disappears. Reason cannot live with the folly of love; love has nothing to do with human reason. If you possessed inner sight, the atoms of the visible world would be manifested to you. But if you look at things with the eye of ordinary reason you will never understand how necessary it is to love. Only a man who has been tested and is free can feel this. He who undertakes this journey should have a thousand hearts so that he can sacrifice one at every moment.

The Valley of Understanding

After the valley of which I have spoken, there comes another--the Valley of Understanding, which has neither beginning nor end. No way is equal to this way, and the distance to be travelled to cross it is beyond reckoning.
Understanding, for each traveller, is enduring; but knowledge is temporary. The soul, like the body, is in a state of progress or decline; and the Spiritual Way reveals itself only in the degree to which the traveller has overcome his faults and weaknesses, his sleep and his inertia, and each will approach nearer to his aim according to his effort. Even if a gnat were to fly with all its might could it equal the speed of the wind? There are different ways of crossing this Valley, and all birds do not fly alike. Understanding can be arrived at variously--some have found the Mihrab, others the idol. When the sun of understanding brightens this road, each receives light according to his merit and he finds the degree assigned to him in the understanding of truth. When the mystery of the essence of beings reveals itself clearly to him, the furnace of this world becomes a garden of flowers. He who is striving will be able to see the almond in its hard shell. He will no longer be pre-occupied with himself, but will look up at the face of his Friend. In each atom he will see the whole; he will ponder over thousands of bright secrets.
But, how many have lost their way in this search for one who has found the mysteries! It is necessary to have a deep and lasting wish to become as we ought to be in order to cross this difficult valley. Once you have tasted the secrets you will have a real wish to understand them. But, whatever you may attain, never forget the words of the Koran, "Is there anything more?"
As for you who are asleep (and I cannot commend you for this), why not put on mourning? You, who have not seen the beauty of your Friend, get up and search! How long will you stay as you are, like a donkey without a halter!

The Valley of Independence and Detachment

Then there comes the valley where there is neither the desire to possess nor the wish to discover. In this state of the soul a cold wind blows, so violent that in a moment it devastates an immense space; the seven oceans are no more than a pool, the seven planets a mere sparkle, the seven heavens a corpse, the seven hells broken ice. Then, an astonishing thing, beyond reason! An ant has the strength of a hundred elephants, and a hundred caravans perish while a rook is filling his crop.
In order that Adam might receive the celestial light, hosts of green-clad angels were consumed by sorrow. So that Noah might become a carpenter of God and build the ark, thousands of creatures perished in the waters. Myriads of gnats fell on the army of Abraham so that the king would be overthrown. Thousands of the first-born died so that Moses might see God. Thousands of people took to the Christian girdles so that Christ could possess the secret of God. Thousands of hearts and souls were pillaged so that Muhammad might ascend for one night to heaven. In this Valley nothing old or new has value; you can act or not act. If you saw a whole world burning until hearts were only shish kabab, it would be only a dream compared to reality. If myriads of souls were to fall into this boundless ocean it would be as a drop of dew. If heaven and earth were to burst into minute particles it would be no more than a leaf falling from a tree; and if everything were to be annihilated, from the fish to the moon, would there be found in the depths of a pit the leg of a lame ant? If there remain no trace of either of men or jinn, the secret of a drop of water from which all has been formed is still to be pondered over.

The Valley of Unity

You will next have to cross the Valley of unity. In this valley everything is broken in pieces and then unified. All who raise their heads here raise them from the same collar. Although you seem to see many beings, in reality there is only one--all make one which is complete in its unity. Again, that which you see as a unity is not different from that which appears in numbers. And as the Being of whom I speak is beyond unity and numbering, cease to think of eternity as before and after, and since these two eternities have vanished, cease to speak of them. When all that is visible is reduced to nothing, what is there left to contemplate?

The Valley of Astonishment and Bewilderment

After the Valley of Unity comes the Valley of Astonishment and Bewilderment, where one is a prey to sadness and dejection. There, sighs are like swords, and each breath a bitter sight; there, is sorrow and lamentation, and a burning eagerness. It is at once day and night. There, is fire, yet a man is depressed and despondent. How, in his bewilderment, shall he continue his way? But he who has achieved unity forgets all and forgets himself. If he is asked: "Are you, or are you not? Have you or have you not the feeling of existence? Are you in the middle or on the border? Are you mortal or immortal?" he will reply with certainty: "I know nothing, I understand nothing, I am unaware of myself. I am in love, but with whom I do not know. My heart is at the same time both full and empty of love.

The Valley of Deprivation and Death

Last of all comes the Valley of Deprivation and Death, which is almost impossible to describe. The essence of the Valley is forgetfulness, dumbness and distraction; the thousand shadows which surround you disappear in a single ray of the celestial sun. When the ocean of immensity begins to heave, the pattern on its surface loses its form; and this pattern is no other than the world present and the world to come. Whoever declares that he does not exist acquires great merit. The drop that becomes part of this great ocean abides there for ever and in peace. In this calm sea, a man, at first, experiences only humiliation and overthrow; but when he emerges from this state he will understand it as creation, and many secrets will be revealed to him.
Many beings have missed taking the first step and so have not been able to take the second--they can only be compared to minerals. When aloe wood and thorns are reduced to ashes they both look alike--but their quality is different. An impure object dropped into rose-water remains impure because of its innate qualities; but a pure object dropped into the ocean will lose its specific existence and will participate in the ocean and in its movement. In ceasing to exist separately it retains its beauty. It exists and non-exists. How can this be? The mind cannot conceive it.

elephent world view

When an elephent is born, it is tied to a tree and it tries hard to break itself free from the chain. He fights for 3-4 days but he is not able to break free. It forms a lasting impression in its mind that if it is tied, it can't break itself free. Afterwards even if he is tied by only one end at his leg and the other end is open free, eventhough it think that he is tied and he can't move.

Simillar is our situation, we think in our comfort zone and don't want to explore further.

set your love free

Once, when two friends were sitting at the edge of a
swimming pool, she filled the palm of her hand with a
little water and held it before the other, and said this:
"You see this water carefully contained on my
hand? it symbolizes Love."

As long as you keep your hand caringly open and
allow it to remain here, it will always be there.
However,if you attempt to close your fingers around it
and try to posses it, it will spill through the first
cracks it finds. This is the greatest mistake that
people do when they meet love...they try to posses it,
they demand, they expect... and just like the water
spilling out of your hand, Love will retrieve
fromyou. For love is meant to be free, you can
notchange it's nature. If there are people you love,
allow them to be free beings.

Give and don't expect.
advise, !but don't order.
Ask, but never demand.

It might sound simple, but it is a lesson that
may take a lifetime to truly practice.
It is the secret to true love. To truly
practice it, you must sincerely feel no expectations
from those who you love, and yet an unconditional
caring. May be this is applicable for all of us.......

Beauty of True Simplicity ..... from Nipun's

"Beauty of True Simplicity" --by Jack Kornfield

The clutter of our lives binds us to the precious simplicity that surrounds us and within us. Too of ten we become possessed and imprisoned by the chains of our own accumulations. We live in fear of their loss; we evolve complex strategies to protect ourselves from failure and deprivation. This burden inhibits our ability to walk with lightness of heart. The noise created through our own busyness deafens us to the wonder of silence.

Modern culture has wrongly learned to equate simplicity with deprivation, silence with absence, and strives to fill our lives and minds with objects, information, and distraction. We have become uncomfortable with quietude. Caught in the web of this complexity, we grow increasingly poor in spirit.

We do not need to retreat to the nearest monastery, renouncing all of our possessions and engagements, in order to discover the wonder of silence and spaciousness. Indeed, confusion and preoccupation can be companion of the ascetic as well as the commuter. We do not need to withdraw from the world in order to discover true simplicity of heart. Dramatic gestures are not called for. "If one is to do good," says William Blake, "good must be done in minute particulars. General good is the plea of the hypocrite, the flatterer, and the scounderel." Simplicity is related to not how much we have but to how much we hold on to. This simplicity is without pretension. It is like the water that simply runs downhill. In Zen, it is called our true nature.

Simplicity and renunciation are acts of compassion . for ourselves, for the world around us. Gandhi once stated, "There is enough in this world for everyone.s need, but enough for everyone.s greed." Simplicity in our lifestyle expresses a care and compassion for the world. Simplicity in our hearts, letting go of opinions and craving, is an act of compassion for ourselves. When we let go of yearning for the future, preoccupation with the past, and strategies to protect the present, there is nowhere left to go but where we are. To connect with the present moment is to begin to appreciate the beauty of true simplicity.

4 pillars of knowledge

1. viveka

2. Desire to achieve something in future make life miserable. If you can't row one boat how u can row the other boat. This is the very root cause of misery.
As a child think when I will be like my big brother, I will happy. a college student thinks when he gets a job he will be happy. As grown up we think that when we find our soulmate we will be happy. And the whole soap opera begins. When we become manager I will be happy. manager think we I will be director I will happy. What u get kidney problem, sleeping problem, travel sickness. There are people who thinks let me suffer here, so that I can get hapiness in heaven. Pleasure only tires. How long we can look at the beautiful thing. People working in perfume factory are sick of smell. How much donut you can take through mouth. So what? How much music you can listen. Whole world is full of the object of these 5 senses. This passion is not a pity. This passion is lack of feverishness. The external outer is the inner. It makes you solid. This is the second pillar.
3. The six wealth: sama, dama, samadhana.
It is senses which says yes or no ... about eating.
titiksha ... endurance forebearance and opposite things comes to forebear it. pleasant and unpleasant events comes, but none of them sticks. they come and go. friends come and go .. force come and go. Not getting competely shaken just by forebear it.
one relationship break and people chew it for year like chewinggum. not happening for judgement in the mind. Not getting carried away by titiksha. Its part of game, win and lose both are same part. loosing, game has value and it is tough. all the little problems that come is part of life. you are much much powerful than every thing that might have shattered you.
urariti ... rejoicing in your nature. being not in nature, just because someone else says yes. for approval of others if we do something, its not with our nature. Being in the present moment. Rejoicing any thing that you do. Letting go everything is Upariti. Being playful is upariti.
Shradha .... faith. is needed when the knowing has found its limits.

DIKSHA

Talking about DIKSHA, many disciples who came to Ramana Maharishi asked for Diksha. He countered them with the question " Diksha ! For whom Diksha? Is it for the body or the mind ? Ask yourself the question - Who wants Diksha, and that will lead you to the question " Who Am I". Once you realize who you are , there will be no need for Diksha.

However Great ones have administered Diksha in three modes. 1)Through touch(Hen hatching egg by touch) 2) Through eye sight(Fish hatches egg by looking at it) 3) Through thought (Tortoise hatches eggs and buries them on seashore and goes to sea.It constantly thinks about it and egg gets hatched. They even did an experiment to prove this)

Diksha in the form of mantra is needed only in the initial stages, to help gain mental strength and control.Further progress can come only from self effort.

kabhi kabhi mere dil mein

kabhi kabhi mere dil mein khayal aata hain,
bhatak rahin hain andhero mein jindagi meri
inhi andhero mein rah jaonga kabhi khokar
main jaanta hoon meri humnafas magar yuun hi
kabhi kabhi mere dil mein..........

main aur meri tanhai aksar yeh baatein karte hain..
tum hoti toh kaisa hota...
tum ye kahti tum woh kahti
tum is baat hairan hoti..tum us baat kitni hasti..
tum hoti toh aisa hota..tum hoti toh vaisa hota..
main aur meri tanhai aksar yeh baatein karte hain..

yeh sochta hoon main kabse gumsum..
ki jabki mujhko bhi yeh khabar hain..
ki tum nahin hon..kahin nahin hon..
magar yeh dil hain ki kah rahan hain..
tum yahin hon..yahin kahin hon...

majboor yeh haalat idhar bhi hain udhar bhi...
tanhai ki ek raat idhar bhi hain udhar bhi...
kehne ko bahut kuch hain magar kis se kahein hum...
kab tak yun hi khamosh rahein aur sahein hum..
dil kehta duniya ki har ek rasm utha de...
deewar jo hum dono mein aaj gira de..
kyun dil mein sulagte rahein logo ko bata de..
haan humko mohabbat hain mohabbat hain mohabbat...
ab dil lein yahin baat..
idhar bhi hain udhar bhi..

filmi sharyari ...fanaa types

adhoori saans thi dhadkan adhoori thi adhoore ham
magar ab chaand poora hain falak pe aur ab pooren hain ham

Rone de aaj hamko do aankhen sujaane de
Baahon mein lene de aur khud ko bheeg jaane de
Hai jo seene mein qaid dariya woh choot jaayega
Hai itna dard ke tera daaman bheeg jaayega

Tere dil mein meri saanson ko jagah mil jaaye
Tere ishq mein meri jaan fanaa ho jaaye

Aisa laga khuda ne rakh diya humare dil pe hath
liya naam humara unho ne kuch aisi ada k saath

Humse durr jaoge kaise dilse humain bhulaoge kaise
Hum wo khushboo hain jo sansoo mein baste hain khudki sansoo ko rok paoge kaise

Bekhudhi ki zindagi hum jiya nahi karte
jaam dusron se chhen kar hum piya nahi karte
unko mohabbat hai to aa kar izhar karen

Aankhen to pyar me dilki zuban hoti hai,
Sachi chahat tho sada bezuban hoti hai,
Pyar mein dard bhi mile tho kya gabrana,
Suna hai dard chahat aur jawan hoti hai...

phool khilte hai bahaaron ka samaa hota hai
aise mausam mein hi to pyaar javaan hota hai
dil ki baaton ko hothon se nahi kehte,
ye fasaana to nigaahon se bayaan hota hai

Jaan usey do jo apna DIL tujhe de
Lekin apna ghurroor sirf uspe Qurbaan karo
Jo tumhare pyaar mein FANAA hojaaye

kaash tere chehre par chechak k daag hote
chand to tuu hai hi do char sitare bhi saath hote!!

garmiye hasrat-e-naakam se jal jaate hain
hum chiragon ki tarah shaam se jal jaate hai...
Shama jalti hai jis aag mein numaish ke liye
Hum usi aag mein gumnaam se jal jaate hain
jab bhi aata hai tera naam mere naam ke saath..
naa jano kyon log mere naam se jal jaate hain

Tu mujhe chahe naa chahe yeh tere baas mein toh hai....
Aur mein tujhko naa chahun yeh mere baas mein nahin....

Milte hi nazrein dil milaya nahin jata....
Aaghaz ko anjaam banaya nahin jata....

Husn Ko Chaand Jawaani Ko Kanwal kehte Hai
Dekh Ko Tujhe Hum Yeh Shokh Ghazal Kehte Hai
Uff Ye Sangemarmar sa tarsha huaa shffaq badan
dekhne wale tujhe Tajmehal kehte hai

pata chala wo kisi aur ka nasib tha,

I love to make you cry

I love to make you cry
Because than,
I can hold your hands..to say sorry
to assure you that i could do anything
to,to make you happy

i love to make u smile..
Because than,
i can justify myself,selfish for a while
to make u know that how desperately
needs you to walk with me the last mile

I love to let u know
that when
you feel hurt i cry,and when you
smiles i laugh and that is why i ardently
wishes that i could die before you

I have got lost in the city of love, (Bulleh)
I have got lost in the city of love,
I am being cleansed, withdrawing myself from my head, hands and feet.
I have got rid of my ego, and have attained my goal.
Thus it has all ended well.
O Bullah, the Lord pervades both the worlds;
None now appears a stranger to me.

You alone exist; I do not, O Beloved!
You alone exist, I do not!
Like the shadow of a house in ruins,
I revolve in my own mind.
If I speak, you speak with me:
If I am silent, you are in my mind.
If I sleep, you sleep with me:
If I walk, you are along my path.
Oh Bulleh, the spouse has come to my house:
My life is a sacrifice unto Him.
You alone exist; I do not, O Beloved!

NEITHER DO I KNOW THE SECRET OF RELIGION
NOR I M BORN OF ADAM AND AVE
I HAV GIVEN MYSELF NO NAME
I BELONG NEITHER TO THOSE WHO SQUAT ND PRAY
NOR TO THOSE WHO HAV GONE ASTRAY
I KNOW NOT WHO I M?

Look my friends! What has my beloved done to me? He has snatched away my heart from me and then gone away
.....................
"How am I to convey to him my message (of love) and make him hear my cries of anguish and suffering?"
He has put the noose of love around my neck while I was still playing and laughing; look what my beloved has done to me! "
Instead be thankful to the one who has blessed u and made u known with this beautiful feeling "love".

telling me to be happy

telling me to be happy
telling me to smile
while stabbing me with your knife

you tell me about black curses and you tell me to forget
I tell you that i can remember
That i cant forget
You tell me that i'm so foolish

Then why did you tell me all those things
times to times
day by day

Whenever I’ll kiss her beautiful eyes
A thousand candles will glow in the dark

Gardens long neglected will bloom
rain clowds will visit the thirsty earth

The statues of ajantha will dance
Caves in long silence will burst in to a song

Not only flowers, buds and the moon
At her feet even her rivals will bow

For a moment the earth will forget herself
For a moment even the stones will smile

All when I’ll kiss those eyes
A thousand candles will glow in the dark

Gardens long neglected will bloom
rain clowds will visit the thirsty earth

The statues of ajantha will dance
Caves in long silence will burst in to a song

Not only flowers, buds and the moon
At her feet even her rivals will bow

For a moment the earth will forget herself
For a moment even the stones will smile

You helped me find who I am… Manjesh (orkut)

I still remember the day when I saw u first
You know how your b’ful eyes pierced me deep in Heart….

U were the one, that I adore
U were everything I asked for…

Ur Eyes…
Ur Voice…
Ur Smile…
Ur Touch…
Ur everything was so pure
That was the day when I was in love for sure….

I love my eyes when u look into them
I love my name when u say it
I love my voice when u hear it

Whenever u were apart
U were close in my heart

I was an ordinary guy
I may be innocent to know what love is
The love was a mystery to me
But you helped me find who I am

Watching you was like watching a shining star,
I knew I could never reach it.
But the thing that made my dreams so tall
was the fact that Stars can fall….

Ur ‘Dreams’ were like a ‘daily soap’ for me
I cried for years n years
That was only U for whom I fought even with my dears….

My senses were playing hide n seek with me
At last my emotions overflowed….

On behalf of all my senses, my heart made a big shout
That day I couldn’t control the light of my heart coming out….

I closed my eyes n took a deep breath
As that was a matter of my life n death….
Ur voice was so sweet even when u rejected my proposal….

I told u how much I love you but u didn’t understand
That day I wanted to start a new chapter of my life but u showed me another end

I will always miss u but will never love u again in my life
The love is still a mystery to me
But you helped me find who I am….

I kiss your forehead ... padmini (orkut)

Light peeps in ,
& the window shines,
I see you sleeping,
With naked forehed, no worry lines.

I blink and I smile,
I cherish the simplicity of the moment,
I stare at you for quite a while,
& kiss your forehead.

Your closed eyes shrink,
your eyebrows come closer,
A fear it brings ,
Coz I never wanted to bother.

A deep breath u take ,
And change your side,
My fear was fake,
I soon realize.

I sit all helpless,
Waiting for you to get up,
I look at your face,
and your hair so disturbed.

I want to see you awake,
And be with me all the time,
Possessive me, cant take,
Your sleep to share my love life.

I look at you again,
Your innocence engulf my mind,
I feel I was insane,
I feel I was so not kind.

I cover you with a blanket,
Unwillingly out of the bed I crawl,
A resistance could be felt,
And forcefully on you I fall.

A smile so witty,
Covers your face,
With a look so naughty,
you lovingly embrace.

I give up myself,
To the care unsaid,
I blow your disturbed hair,
& kiss your forehead.
